Project of the Week: Nakamigos

What are Nakamigos? It’s the project everyone and their mother is talking about. Nakamigos are a collection of 20k “unique crypto investors”.

There’s no roadmap, no planned utility, and no complex storylines to follow. It’s simply, “a vibe”.

Who created these? Nobody knows! And honestly that’s part of the reason why they’ve become so popular. NFT degens love a good mystery (remember when that NFT founder faked his own death?! Wild).

Anyways, as we were saying…there have been rumors that Larva Labs (the creator of CryptoPunks) is behind this project but there is nothing to confirm that rumor. The mystery continues…

Why are they popular? Like we said, part of this is the mystery of the unknown team. But the other part is that they’re honestly cool to collect.

The collection size is 20k and each NFT is different. The NFT market has had fun finding the specific Nakamigo that best matches themselves.

It also helps that the team created an “Honorary Nakamigos” collection that is based on popular NFT influencers. When in doubt, get the influencers involved.

Lastly, as we know, a major part of the success of ANY NFT project is if you can answer ‘yes’ to this one very important question:

• “Are they PFP-able?”

Projects that can be used as PFPs get hot fast and can take-off! Nakamigos are PFP-able.

Why should you care? NFTs are supposed to be fun. The last few months, the entire NFT market has been focused on airdrop farming Blur. Honestly, that hasn’t been fun.

Nakamigos brings new, and much-needed life to the NFT market. Let’s go back to the basics and have some fun!

🐳 FRANK GOES BIG

Goodness gracious! Frank DeGods went on quite the NFT shopping spree last night. He pretty much bought every NFT on our wishlist…in a few hours. so yes we are a little jealous and you probably are too.

Over the past 48 hours, he bought:

• Azuki

• Pudgy Penguins

• CyberKongz

• Memeland

• And much more!

But why? In Frank’s Twitter bio he calls himself a “social experimenter”. He’s buying these NFTs because he believes in them but it’s also part of a larger experiment. He’s attracting the whales from each of these communities and welcoming them to join him. Can he “buy” his way into each of these communities? We’ll find out…

Why it matters: This is a HUGE marketing play from Frank and we might just see y00ts & degods giga pump over the next few weeks!

😮 YUGA: HV-MTL

Yesterday, Yuga gave us more information on their latest NFT Collection, HV-MTL (pronounced ‘Heavy Metal’).

Honestly, at this point, keeping up with the Yuga ecosystem is a full time job. Fortunately, we do that so you don’t have to!

Catch-up quick: Earlier this month Sewer Pass holders could burn their Sewer Pass to receive an HV-MTL NFT.

The rarity of your HV-MTL is based on your Dookey Dash score. Each score is tied to a Sewer Pass (do you see what we mean when we say it’s a full time job!).

Okay, so what are these HV-MTLs? They’re 30k machines that came from another world and they just landed in the BAYC swamp.

The reason they’re here is because of a “rift in space-time” (for those at home guessing what could have caused that, I’ll just leave this here).

Each HV is a unique, dynamic NFT that evolves based on the decisions the holder makes. The traits and skills each HV has is unique, but they’re all built to transform.

Seedphraser Take: Yuga Labs has been making announcement after announcement. In the past 3 days, we’ve heard more from them than 99% of NFT projects have told us over the last 3 months. Yuga dominates the NFT market at this point and HV-MTL is the latest example of their dominance.

😮 POLYGON NFTs

This week was a historic moment for Polygon NFTs. y00ts successfully bridged from Solana to Polygon. For the sports fans out there, it’s basically like the Yankees trading for A-Rod.

This move got us thinking, what else is happening in the world of Polygon NFTs? Let’s take a look together!

Comparison to other chains: Polygon is a top 5 NFT blockchain all time by sales volume. For comparison, Ethereum is 50x larger. But, over the past 24 hours, Polygon is 3rd overall and sales are up 125%!

Where to buy Polygon NFTs: Fortunately, Polygon NFTs already trade on marketplaces you know and love (or maybe don’t love so much): Magic Eden, OpenSea, and Rarible.

Most notably, Blur does not support Polygon NFTs. This means no airdrop farming for these NFTs.

However, we cannot call it a success just yet. This was a long-term move for both Polygon and y00ts. We should have high expectations for both of these teams. This was day 1 on a long journey ahead!
