Shopify is on a roll

Happy Wednesday MoeMentum fam.

Welcome back to another newsletter. I know i’ve been on and off and some of you probably hate it but between the time traveling, country hopping and running the business you can imagine how crazy life is getting.

Anyways… appreciate you guys sticking with me here.

I’m excited for this one because I’ve got a lot to talk about.

Unless you live under a rock you probably know that Shopify just rolled out their summer editions where they go over the newest features they added to the platform.

So today I wanted to go over my favorites and the ones I’m looking forward to utilizing right away.

Let’s dive into my top 3.

1. Sidekick AI Assistant

This is by far my favorite new feature.

It’s basically your own personalized business assistant that’s integrated directly into Shopify and can help with any task you need.

Here’s a list of some of the stuff it can help you with:

Workflow Automation: SideKick can automate tasks like sending welcome emails, updating inventory, and managing customer inquiries. 

This is a huge time-saver and will reduce a lot of the manual effort it takes to run a brand.

Customer Support: SideKick can handle customer queries, provide product details, and help manage customer relationships through live chat support.

This will help a lot with your customer experience and probably save you a good chunk of money on customer support staff if done correctly of course! 

Content Creation: SideKick can help you generate content for product descriptions, email marketing, and social media posts.

And ya you might be thinking… well ChatGPT can do that + 1000 other AI tools…

In my opinion, Shopify is primed to make SideKick one of the most dominant AI assistants because it can be directly tied into the data they have as a platform + dynamically update as your brand grows and it learns what works and what doesn't.

But who knows that's just my crazy brain making assumptions.

Operational Assistance: SideKick can guide you through setting up new workflows, integrating new tools, and optimizing processes.

It acts as an additional team member and it can be a CFO, CMO or most likely a VA providing insights and suggestions on anything you need as a business owner.

2. Analytics

Analytics is now faster with more flexible views.

And now you’ll be able to get way more in-depth customer data on anything you need.

You can drag and drop different sections onto your dashboard, and there’s live tracking.

I’m personally excited to see how deep of a reporting stack I can build with this update (I’ll keep you guys posted)

Overall a massive game-changer for getting insights into your store’s performance, especially in combination with my next favorite feature…

3. YouTube Shopping Partnership (Affiliate)

This is huge.

Shopify has partnered with YouTube to integrate shopping features directly into YouTube.

VERY similar to what TikTok is doing with the TikTok Shop.

In other words, the big tech war is heatingggg up and maybe TikTok gets banned who knows, at least we got backups now ;)

Here’s some of the key features from this partnership:

A. Integration of Shopify Stores with YouTube Channels

You can now link your Shopify store directly to your YouTube channel.

This lets you display and sell products directly on your YouTube content.

B. Multiple Sales Channels on YouTube

Live Streams – You can tag and pin products during live streams, allowing people to buy products without leaving the stream.

Videos – You can a product showcase below your videos.

Store Tab – A new store tab will be added to YouTube channels, featuring their entire product selection.

C. Seamless Shopping Experience

For eligible merchants in the U.S., viewers can now complete purchases without leaving YouTube.

This will be huge for conversion rates.

And I'm veryyy excited to test this out.
