š¤ EXPOSED OR FUD? THE NFT DRAMA.
NFT drama has been so intense lately that it makes the Kardashians look like theyāre on vacation.
This weekend, the drama was centered around this pretty normal dude, Ryan Carson. Hereās his face:
Ryan Carson is a well-known entrepreneur and Web3 voice, he runs a very famous Twitter space, The Daily Dose.
He was looked up to by thousands, but this weekend it looks like he fumbled.
šļø Hereās what happened, explained like itās office gossip:
š Did you see his tweet? Feb 3rd, Carson announced the launch of his Web3 fund āFlux,ā in a now-deleted tweet. The fundsā goal was to raise $10M through 100 investors.
But the math wasnāt mathing. NFT community members pointed out the announcement didnāt add up. Carsonās fund stated a $160K minimum for investors. Yet, if 100 individuals invested that much, it would equal a $16 million raise ā $6M more than the goal.
š¤« Insider trading? Those 21 initial investors seem to have an unfair cut of the pie (compared to the public). They contributed way less than the $160K minimum, yet would receive the same equity as those contributing far more?
āļø Heavy hitters like GaryVee were involved in the raise. To ward off keyboard warriors, the Vaynerchucks made a public announcement. Plus, a bunch of investors pulled out from verbal commitments due to the ordeal.
Pretty Normal Dude or Sketchy Guy? This is not the first time Carson has been accused of being borderline unclear/transparent. In April, he left the Moonbirds team right after mint. Before that, he got heat for his āerraticā management style.
Welcome to another day in the wild west.
If youāre left scratching your head, read Zenecaās take on it all. Zeneca is a thought leader we look up to, plus he had some initial involvement with the fund.
Iād like to share my thoughts on everything that has unfolded re Ryan Carson / Flux over the weekend, and shed some light on my involvement as a āFounding Advisorā. š§µš

To his credit, Ryan Carson addressed the scrutiny and even got on Twitter spaces to answer everyoneās questions. Seems like the storm has passed - Listen to the recording.
Fake News is Spreading
And whoever started the story didnāt do their homework.
Michael Saylor is the last guy in the Bitcoin army you want to f*ck with. He was the CEO of Microstrategy for 33 successful years, only recently stepping back from the role so he can focus on Bitcoin.
This guy is not letting go of Bitcoin any time soon, just watch:
So when we stumbled across a āsecret audio leakā our team had a good laugh.
And then we got nervous.
People seemed to actually believe it.
The secret audio leak: many accounts are starting to āreportā on this āsecret leakā of Saylor admitting heās going to dump his BTC soon and go in on ETH. It sounds believable, but it would take about 5 minutes of your own research to realize itās fake. Listen to the audio here.
Spoiler: itās not him. Itās an Ai bot.
Hereās why you should care: Deepfakes and Ai are only becoming more and more prominent. In a space like crypto, the lack of regulation can leave consumers especially vulnerable to bad information. Basically, youāre going to need to take your research seriously.
No more single-source news.
Stay safe out there, and remember to always DYOR.
Give us your take!Give us honest feedback, we have something in store for you. |
