🧐 VISA is done with crypto?
Hold on to your hats, Seedphrasers! It’s not that bad.
Crypto is a rollercoaster and if you don’t know that well, now you do. On another note, imagine being a company that’s looking to integrate crypto payments to billions of people.. yup not the easiest thing to do.
According to Reuters, Visa isn't launching all its crypto products just yet due to the "market meltdown." But, it was fake newwwwws, CNN style.
The head of Crypto at Visa, Cuy Sheffield, had something to say about it.
1/ This story is inaccurate as it pertains to Visa, here’s the reality 👇🏼

Our boy Cuy is one sharp cookie and he took his thoughts to Twitter.
Saying “Visa is still partnering with crypto companies, despite the current market conditions. In fact, Visa sees a big future for fiat-backed digital currencies running on public blockchains as part of the company's ecosystem.”
Visa isn't afraid to explore the potential of blockchain technology and its many applications. But they're also smart enough to understand the risks of going all-in on this space as it stands today. So while the rest of the world is busy avoiding Gary Gensler’s thoughts, Visa is keeping its options open and staying ahead of the game.

💻 Another fraud confirmed (FTX)
Former FTX Engineering Director Nishad Singh just pleaded guilty to a bunch of criminal charges in a New York court. Charges include wire fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy to make unlawful political contributions. (No surprise)
Singh is the latest ex-FTX exec to plead guilty, following Caroline Ellison and Gary Wang. But ol’ boy Sammy Fraud, is standing firm and pleading not guilty to charges of fraud and every other shady thing his company did.
He's got a trial coming up this fall. (Get your popcorn ready)
Rumors were in the air earlier in February that Singh was working with U.S. prosecutors, and last week, prosecutors filed superseding charges, with new information about an individual described as “coconspirator-1”- the assumption is that the coconspirator is Singh.
The fate of other top FTX figures, including former FTX co-CEO Ryan Salame and former Alameda co-CEO Sam Trabucco, is still left unknown but we’ll be waiting to update you when that changes!
TLDR; the guilty plea of Nishad Singh and the charges against other FTX figures emphasize the other legal risks associated with not only crypto but paint a picture of what SBFs trial will be like.
Give us your take!Give us honest feedback, we have something in store for you. |
