There's more to Web3 than just Solana, Ethereum, CryptoPunks and Bitcoin.
We asked 25 Crypto OGs what sectors within Crypto to keep an eye on, & we've compiled a Web3 charcuterie board of different sectors to monitor the next bull run.
There's something tasty for everyone, even if you're lactose.
1. Layer 2s:
Layer 2s are built to increase transaction speeds and scaling issues that certain networks have.
2. Inter-Blockchain Communications (IBC):
IBC is the connectivity between different blockchains and making them compatible with each other, for example, buying a Bored Ape with Solana.
Cosmos: An ever-expanding ecosystem that allows developers to create customizable, application-specific blockchains that can leverage interoperability that can use interoperability via IBC and has been growing in both user and developer activity.
3. NFT-Fi
We predict Decentralized Finance will have a bigger comeback than Soulja Boy. Especially DeFi for NFTs. The sector has been gaining a lot of attention because it's being groomed with talks of mass adoption.
SudoSwap: A decentralized NFT marketplace that takes 0.5% of all transactions into the protocol.
MetaStreet: Protocol that helps you easily earn interest by routing liquidity to NFT collateral algorithmically.
JPEG'd: It is a novel and revolutionary platform that enables holders of certain NFTs to obtain a line of credit on their assets while still retaining ownership. After receiving a line of credit on their NFTs, users can earn yield in DeFi.
4. Web3 Social Media
The problem with Web2 platforms is censorship, and usually, the content you see is fed to you by an algorithm that studies your personality to sell you a narrative or products.
With the crypto community growing so fast, we will need a Web3 native platform to connect and share ideas. Twitter and Youtube won't cut it.
Since we know the current Web2 platforms, let's make this short.
The beauty of Web3 SM is that you control your data, can't be censored, and can carry your followers among different platforms.
5. GameFi
The gaming industry is worth $235.2B and gives almost nothing valuable to players. Crypto games change that by rewarding people with money, which they can exchange for fiat and use for real-life items.
Once the in-game economy is developed, getting paid to play games without being a streamer will entice many people.
Some successful games this year were:
Axie Infinity: A digital pet community of Axis where players can collect, explore and battle.
STEPN: Earn tokens by just exercising and moving outdoors.
Sweatcoin: A free app that rewards your daily steps with $SWEAT.
What a beautiful platter of cheese.
Pick your favourite and sink your teeth into it.
