Earlier this week I discovered this brand that did $10,000,000 on tiktok shop in the last 30 days so it raised my eyebrows and dropped my jaw..

I had to investigate, and the deeper I went in the more in awe I was

So ironically, today’s topic focuses on this brand strategy, which I think is some of the best discreet direct-response marketing we’ve seen in a long time.

So without any further ado, let’s dive right in

The TikTok Shop Growth Flywheel

$10,080,000 from TikTok Shop in the last 30 days.


And they say Tiktok is for kids..

Before this week I had never heard or seen anything about this weird company called “Micro Ingredients” but to be fair they are one of the bigger brands on Amazon and they came into Tiktok ready to make a killing.

And they are, but it’s all based on a lie.

(I’ll explain at the end)

First allow me to break down their strategy.

Mass Outrech & Affiliate

90% of Microingredients Tiktok Shop revenue is coming from affiliates.

They are working with thousands of affiliates, and they’re probably using some type of Tiktok shop bot and agency to help them with it because the volume of affiliates they are working with is just insane.

(I’ve developed my own) will talk about this in May!

Now here’s where things get interesting.

Out of 1,688 affiliates they worked with, the top 10 generated about 40% of all the revenue

10 affiliates have driven over $150k of revenue EACH in the last 30 days.

That is unheard of….

You’ll see it in the image below.

Once I did more investigating here what’s even more baffling

2 of the top 10 affiliates made the majority of their money with LIVE STREAM…

Not even viral videos

Now let me go into the second part of their strategy

The Marketing Angle

They’ve created a recipe for creators to recreate and it’s been working repeatedly.

Almost every viral video has started with a hook like this:

“Did you see the video of a lady who started crying b/c she started taking collagen and all of her wrinkles disappeared?”

The hook works because it:

  • It’s Tiktok native and organic

  • Feels like good gossip

  • Sells a big problem

  • Creates massive urgency and FOMO

After the hook, the creator doubles down on the all positive benefits of that “lady” they reference in the hook then continues to hold up the Microingredients product and tells you that this is the magical collagen powder they used.

From there… every other affiliate has been using the same video structure and killing it with it.

The crazy part is…...

THERE IS NO WOMEN OR VIRAL VIDEO!

The Product 

Crazy volume is one thing, going viral is cool but to sustain that much growth and scale you need a great product.

Solves a problem, connected to a passion, and perishable

In a market category where there’s really not much competition.

All in all, going into this brands strategy opened up my eyes on some new things I want to try out on my own, and as I do that I’ll be sharing the exact process with my inner circle community members too
